What's New?

Brand-New Beef with Peas & Carrot Roll

A delicious addition to the Prime Pantry range, this roll combines high-quality beef and chicken with nutritious peas and carrots for a complete and balanced meal. Perfect for dogs of all breeds and sizes (including large and giant breed puppies), it's packed with protein to support strong muscles, healthy energy levels, and overall vitality.

Lower Fat for Healthy Weight Management

We've refined our recipes, including the fat levels to promote healthy weight management while maintaining the same high-quality diet and essential nutrients your dog needs. The lower fat levels mean reduced calorie content across the recipes, and we've updated the feeding guides to reflect this change. The result? A leaner, everyday diet that helps keep your dog in healthy shape.

Updated Product Names to Include 'Recipe'

We've updated our product names to include 'recipe' to meet the latest AAFCO standards.

Prime Pantry Cooked Roll FAQs

Why have you added chicken to the Snapper recipe roll?

Chicken has always been part of the Prime Pantry Snapper Roll. It is the foundational protein in all Prime Pantry Rolls, providing a lean, species-appropriate, and highly digestible source of protein.

Chicken is an excellent source of energy for dogs and is a rich source of amino acids and omega-6 fatty acids.

It also contains natural glucosamine to support joint health, as well as B vitamins like B6 and niacin, which promote skin and coat health and a healthy metabolism.

Why is the calorie content lower in the new recipes?

We’ve reduced the fat levels in the updated recipes to support healthy weight management. This results in lower calorie content (ME), ensuring your dog can maintain a healthy weight while still receiving all the essential nutrients they need.

Is a transition period required for the updated recipes?

Most healthy dogs can transition between Prime Pantry diets with ease due to their high-quality and limited ingredients. However, as a precaution, we recommend a gradual transition over 5–7 days to support digestion and avoid any potential issues.

Are your ingredients sourced differently?

No, our sourcing remains the same. All our fresh ingredients are proudly Australian-sourced, and our rolls are manufactured right here in our Melbourne manufacturing facility. We continue to support Aussie farmers and maintain the same trusted quality you know and love.

Why does the product name now say “Recipe”?

We've updated our product names to include 'recipe' to meet the latest AAFCO standards.

What if my dog doesn’t like the updated recipe?

If your dog doesn’t enjoy the new recipe, we’ve got you covered! Our products are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Simply contact us or your place of purchase, and we’ll work with you to find the best solution.

My dog has an allergy to chicken. What options can I feed them?

If your dog has a chicken allergy, we recommend trying one of the non-chicken diets in our SPD Fresh Roll range. The SPD range offers a variety of single protein options, ensuring there’s a suitable choice for every dog with dietary sensitivities.

What does this change mean for my dog?

With the improved recipes, the lower fat levels have resulted in reduced calorie content (ME). This means your dog’s feeding amounts may need to be adjusted.

The feeding guide on the packaging provides general recommendations based on the needs of a typical dog. However, every dog is unique. Factors such as body condition score, activity level, and age may influence how much they need to eat.

We recommend using the feeding guide on our website to tailor the amounts for your dog’s individual needs. For example:

  • Active dogs may require larger portions.
  • Less active dogs or those with a higher body condition score may need smaller portions.

Is the snapper in the Snapper with Carrot & Broccoli Recipe Roll Australian?

Yes, the snapper we source is still 100% Australian. We’ve simply removed the term "Australian" from the product name to align with the naming conventions across the rest of our range. We remain proud supporters of Aussie farmers, sourcing all our fresh ingredients right here in Australia.

Do the updated recipes still meet AAFCO standards?

Yes, all Prime Pantry Cooked Rolls continue to meet AAFCO nutrient profile standards for complete and balanced nutrition. These updates align with the latest research and guidelines from AAFCO.

How can I tell if I’m buying the updated recipes?

The updated Prime Pantry Rolls will be rolling out in the coming months. Look for the new packaging featuring the word “Recipe" in the product name.

Prime Pantry Jerky Treat FAQs

What's changed about the recipes?

We've fine-tuned our ingredients, using leaner cuts of meat to reduce calorie content while increasing protein levels for a healthier, leaner treat.

Are your ingredients sourced differently?

No, our sourcing remains the same. All our fresh ingredients are proudly Australian-sourced, and our Jerky Treats are manufactured right here in our Melbourne manufacturing facility. We continue to support Aussie farmers and maintain the same trusted quality you know and love.

Why were Duck, Turkey, and Lamb Jerky Treats discontinued?

These SKUs were discontinued to allow us to focus on the most popular proteins within the Prime Pantry Jerky Range. We recommend our SPD Prime Cut Treats if you're looking for a Duck, Turkey, or Lamb treat for your dog.

What type of glycerine is used in the treats?

The glycerine is vegetable-based, RSPO-certified, and sustainably sourced. It helps retain moisture and texture while providing beneficial fats.

What is 'Maltodextrin' and 'Stabilisers'?

We use maltodextrin to improve the texture of our jerky treats and to ensure all the other ingredients are mixed evenly. It’s a common and safe ingredient derived from plants.

Why was the Dalmatian removed from the Chicken Jerky Treat packaging?

Dalmatians have a unique genetic trait that affects how they process purines, naturally occurring compounds in meat. This can increase their risk of bladder or kidney stones.

While most dogs thrive on meat-based diets, Dalmatians often require low-purine diets to support their health. To reflect this, we've updated our packaging to better align with their specific dietary needs.

How can I tell if I'm purchasing the updated range?

Look for refreshed packaging with simplified names and updated ingredient lists on the back of the pack.
